New “Rhythm Core Alpha 2″ dubstep composition “Cogs In The Machine” by @very Caldwell!
Thursday, April 17th, 2014@very Caldwell posted this in the Rhythm Core Alpha Facebook Group:
“Hey guys! I am @very Caldwell, and I produce music under the stage name “@CE”. Just recently I finished a song I wrote on Rhythm Core Alpha 2, and I wanted to share it with you all! (The only part of this song that was not made on the 3DS was the vocoder)
Enjoy, & feedback is totally appreciated!! ^.~”
@very, we think this is awesome! Finally somebody makes good use of all those dubstep wub sounds that I put in there! I can also hear great use of the “GHG Flying” sound (“Green-Haired Girl Flying”: the Lum-flying sound). This is great stuff, and I can’t wait to hear what you do next!
New song! “So Wrong” by Timon Marmex
Saturday, February 1st, 2014Timon Marmex has created another fantastic Rhythm Core Alpha 2 composition! His song “So Wrong” was originally featured on his album “White Collar Punk” and has now been lovingly rendered using Rhythm Core Alpha 2 and is quite possibly better than the original! Give it a listen!
Rhythm Core Alpha 2 will be at Rockage 3.0 in San Jose, February 7-9!
Tuesday, January 28th, 2014We just talked with Eric Fanali from the Rockage event in San Jose and have confirmed that they have a place for us to demo Rhythm Core Alpha 2 and even to sneak in a Timon Marmex performance or two between the bands.
This is very exciting for us! Long ago we did live in the SF bay area for about a year and it always holds a special place in our heart. We know so many awesome chiptune artists up in the bay area and have been honored to share the stage with Slime Girls and Crashfaster as well as many others, so being able to play up there is a big deal for us!
So, San Francisco Bay Area folks be sure to check us out at Rockage 3.0!
Timon Marmex performs with Rhythm Core Alpha 2 at 23b Shop’s “SparkleCon” this Saturday, January 25th ~7pm and later
Tuesday, January 21st, 2014SoftEgg’s Timon Marmex will be performing his 2nd show of this Saturday, January 25th at 23b Shop in Fullerton, California, for an event called “SparkleCon”, a sort of DIY-unconference that is much cooler than it sounds. Also performing will be Cyclops Rock, and there will be visuals by VJ Tim Abad.

Rhythm Core Alpha “Make Chiptunes” standee
Tuesday, January 21st, 2014We got tired of nobody taking our flyers at shows, so we made this flashy home brew standee with a real Nintendo DSi in it. Just try and ignore it now!
The thing is constructed around a mount we use for live shows, so that will have to change eventually.
The face is just paper between two sheets of acrylic. Cutting acrylic is hard, and we ruined a lot of expensive sheeting.
There was to be an aluminum Channel border, but we didn’t have a way too weld the aluminum in time.
We lit up the back with Christmas Tree lights. Cheap and attention grabbing. To mount them we just stuck them through a chicken wire mesh.
Not so pretty, but it works.
We’d like to add better backlighting, but so far this is pretty good! We had a lot more interest after we put this up!
In a few weeks we will get to use it again at Rockage in San Jose!
