We got tired of nobody taking our flyers at shows, so we made this flashy home brew standee with a real Nintendo DSi in it. Just try and ignore it now!
The thing is constructed around a mount we use for live shows, so that will have to change eventually.
The face is just paper between two sheets of acrylic. Cutting acrylic is hard, and we ruined a lot of expensive sheeting.
There was to be an aluminum Channel border, but we didn’t have a way too weld the aluminum in time.
We lit up the back with Christmas Tree lights. Cheap and attention grabbing. To mount them we just stuck them through a chicken wire mesh.
Not so pretty, but it works.
We’d like to add better backlighting, but so far this is pretty good! We had a lot more interest after we put this up!
In a few weeks we will get to use it again at Rockage in San Jose!
